I would say most of the ones reading this believe in God. Maybe you never ever faced a time when you didn’t believe. In my personal experience, I started questioning things. I wanted proof that God was real. I believe that questioning things can be really effective in growing your faith if you look for answers. I want to share with you a couple of proofs in hopes that they will help grow your faith as well.

1. We Can KNOW God Exists by the Law of Cause and Effect

Apologeticspress.org states the law of cause and effect as “Every material effect must have an adequate cause that existed before the effect” (“Cause and Effect-Scientific Proof that God Exists”). It has to have a sufficient cause. For example, what if I told you that a hair landed on your phone and broke the screen? I don’t think any rational thinker would believe that. It’s just not possible because it’s not an adequate cause. What about our universe then? Did an explosion place the earth at the perfect distance away from the sun? How could an explosion create humans, which are more complex than anything on this earth, yet humans can’t build machines that work as good as the human body? An explosion is not an adequate cause. Explosions destroy things, not create them. Our bodies, the animals, and our entire world must have had a Creator. A Creator with an amazing mind and so much power.

2. We Can KNOW God Exists by the Accuracy of the Bible

It may seem a little backwards to bring this up before proving that God exists, but proving the Bible will help us greatly in seeing that God does exist. The Bible was written over hundreds of years by men who lived at different times, yet they were “…correct in everything they wrote–about the past, present, and even the future” (“3 Good Reasons to Believe the Bible is From God”). One of the Bible prophets, Ezekiel, prophesied that many nations would come against the city of Tyre and it would be destroyed and never rebuilt (Ezekiel 3). History records that this prophecy came true as well as the others he prophesied about the city. There is much more historical evidence that proves the Bible’s accuracy that we won’t talk about in this article, but I encourage you to look them up yourself to get more information on this topic. Knowing the evidence of the Bible’s accuracy leads us to see that God does exist and created the world because the Bible tells us so…

“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.”

Genesis 1:1 NKJV

“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.”

John 1:1-3 NKJV

If we believe the Bible, we must come to the conclusion that there is a God.

Maybe you’re wondering why I’ve put the word “know” in all capital letters. As a Christian, we must have faith. The worldly view of faith is just a leap in the dark, but the biblical view of faith is “the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” (Hebrews 11:1). To have biblical faith we must have evidence. We need to KNOW God exists and not just hope that He does. KNOWING God exists can give you peace and joy. KNOWING God exists can assure you that there is a home in Heaven just for you if you obey Him.
